Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on 13 February 1979) is a famous American actress fashion designer and model. In 1990, shortly after beginning her career as a model, Suvari started acting in TV shows such as Boy Meets World. Her debut on film was the show Nowhere which was which was released in 1997. After her performance of American Beauty (for which she was awarded the BAFTA Award) and American Pie which brought her greater attention, she began her transition into major roles. She was in the film industry for a year, and was in American Pie alongside American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2001, she took on the main role in Sugar & Spice (2000). She had appearances in the independent 2002 drama Spun as well as the 2004 action film Trauma. She appeared in HBO's dramatic series Six Feet Under. In 2004 she received an award for an Outstanding Cast member in the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari appeared in various films like Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and also as the film adaption to The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model on behalf of Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she's also been featured on several blogs and fashion magazines, including Vogue. She has been a supporter and advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation which is a well-known organisation that helps provide assistance to the African continent. In addition, she's involved in charitable organizations that fight breast cancer, and End Violence Against Women.
